Set in the trees, stacked quarry stones are remnants of an old sandstone quarry mine. The mine operated in the late 1800's in Tenino, Washington. By the 1920's stone quarrying faded into history as concrete replaced stone as a major building material. The stacked stones left on site of the old quarry mine make a natural monument to an era long ago.
